Sci-Bridge Grant
SCI-Bridge, a $450,000 National Science Foundation grant, provides access to quality science instruction for Title I elementary schools in Atlanta.
This professional development model for teachers and teachers-in-training combines best practices in science education with teaching methods that are most effective for students from diverse communities.
Sci-Bridge summer academy and series of workshops for teacher and teacher candidate impacts about 1,420 students in metro-Atlanta schools.
The Juntos Grant
Through Juntos, a National Professional Development Grant funded by the Federal Department of Education, the UACM M.A.T. program received a five-year, $2.7 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of English Language Acquisition to educate teachers to work with bilingual learners in Atlanta Public Schools and the DeKalb County School District,
All UACM candidates with a signed three-year service agreement to teach in a high-needs school will receive up to $10,000 in participant stipend/tuition assistance toward teacher certification and ESOL endorsement.
