BECOME A TEACHER
The Urban Accelerated Certification and Master's Program (UACM) is an exciting initial certification ( M.A.T.) and English Speaker of Other Languages (ESOL) endorsement program, which prepares elementary teachers (Pre-K through fifth grade) to teach in an urban environment.
Our program links theory to practice through rigorous course work, powerful field experiences and induction support.
Application deadline is March 1st of each year
Program candidates may qualify for grant support and residency teacher positions.

UACM Program
The M.A.T. in elementary education is an exciting alternative teacher certification and master’s degree program that celebrates urban education of elementary school students (pre-kindergarten through 5th grade).
People
The UACM M.A.T. program is facilitated by dedicated faculty and graduate research students. Candidates in this program take coursework and participate in field experiences as a part of a cohort of passionate educators.

Projects
The mission of the UACM M.A.T. program has been supported through grant projects. The Sci-Bridge and Juntos grants focus on teacher development in the expertise of hands-on science inquiry and integrated literacy instruction.
